IMSA Race Car Drivers Visit Toronto's Hospital For Sick Children

Four drivers from the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship visited Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children on Wednesday afternoon. American Ricky Taylor (reigning prototype co-champion), Denmark’s Christina Nielsen (first woman driver to win an IMSA championship), Toronto’s Kyle Marcelli, and Holland Landing’s Anthony Simone spent time sharing racing stories and signing autographs with the children and their families.
All four drivers will be competing this weekend in Canada’s biggest sports car race at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), July 5-8, for the Mobil 1 SportsCar Grand Prix. The weekend features the exotic prototype and high-tech GT race cars of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, as well as exciting action from the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge, and the IMSA Prototype Challenge presented by Mazda.
The star-studded entry list includes many of the world’s top sports car drivers from over 20 countries highlighted by Helio Castroneves, Juan Pablo Montoya and defending WeatherTech series co-champs, Jordan and Ricky Taylor, as well as drivers and teams who recently competed at the famed 24 Hours of Le Mans in June. They will pilot race cars from prestigious marques including Acura, Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Corvette, Ford, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Lexus, and Porsche.
