CTMP to Host Trans Am, FR Americas, F4 U.S. at Labour Day Sprints 2024
(Monday, Oct 16, 2023) Bowmanville ON - Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) confirmed today that the Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli, the longest-running professional road racing series in North America, will return to Canada in 2024 at the Labour Day Sprints Weekend event.
Parella Motorsports Holdings (PMH), which owns the Trans Am Series, has confirmed the popular TA and TA2 categories for CTMP in 2024. PMH also owns the Formula Regional Americas Powered by Honda (FR Americas), and Formula 4 United States Championship Powered by Honda (F4 U.S.). These series recently announced that they too will compete at CTMP on the Labour Day Weekend next year.
“We’re really pleased to announce that Trans Am, FR Americas, and F4 U.S. will be on the CTMP calendar for 2024,” said track President and General Manager Myles Brandt.
“The Trans Am Series specifically has a strong history at this track,” Brandt continued.
“This has always been a driver’s track, and these Trans Am cars look really incredible to drive … so we’re confident we’ll see a healthy grid filled with the Trans Am stars of today, and you just never know who else might show up on that entry list.”
The Trans Am Series first competed at the track known as ‘Mosport’ in 1976, and was a mainstay on the yearly event calendar for nearly three decades. Through the years Canadian fans had lots to cheer about with racing names like Ludwig Heimrath, Eppie Wietzes, Kenny Wilden, and Ron Fellows having competed and won in Trans Am competition at CTMP - along with countless other Canadians through the years who have competed in the series. The last Trans Am event at CTMP in 2014 was won by Fellows, capturing his 20th series victory in his 100th start.
CTMP intends to release its official 2024 major-event schedule in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more updates.
