Everything to see and do at the 2022 Chevrolet Grand Prix this weekend … presented by Wayfarer Insurance

Well it’s finally race week! CTMP is so excited to have IMSA racing back on the calendar this year with the Chevrolet Grand Prix. We can’t wait to get this amazing weekend underway, and here’s everything we think you should know for this awesome event.

ON-Track Action

First, let’s get you the rundown on all the great racing action. The main event of this event will of course be the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race, which will go green around 3:00 PM. The Saturday main event be the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at 4:00 PM and will feature GT4 and TCR class cars in a two hour battle. IMSA Protoype Challenge will also compete in a 90 minute event at 11:30 on Sunday morning. Masters Racing Legends USA - featuring historic Formula One and Formula Atlantic cars - will race on both Saturday and Sunday.

CTMP Marketplace

As with past years, the CTMP Marketplace will be the hub for off-track activity. Be sure to visit the Wayfarer Insurance booth to enter their grand prize draw sponsored by OWASCO and valued at over $1,000 ! You also have to check out the Chevrolet Performance HQ for the ultimate simulated racing experience. There will also be Chevy swag and more. Official merchandise from CTMP, IMSA, and PFAFF will be available as well in the Marketplace. There will also be some great eats available at the CTMP Trackside Grill, as well as Paco’s Taco’s, Zambri’s Pizzeria, Heavenly Dreams Ice Cream, Loaded Pierogi, and Lemon Heaven. There will be plenty more displays and vendors on-site, so check them out!

Canadian Tire Fun Zone

This is going to be the go-to spot for little ones! The area will be open on Friday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturday/Sunday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Fun Zone features bouncy castles, inflatables, games, and giveaways. There will also be face painting on Saturday and Sunday between 11:30 AM and 2:30 PM!

Beer Garden, Concert & Fireworks

Serving daily starting at 11:00 AM, the Turn 1 Beer Garden is back for 2022. We will be featuring CTMP’s custom “61 Lager” from Whitby’s own Brock St. Brewery. Carlsberg products will also be available all weekend. Enjoy responsibly! On Saturday night the Beer Garden will also host a live concert starting at 7:00 PM, followed by fireworks after sundown to celebrate Canada Day!

Open Grid Walk

One of the coolest things about the IMSA event is that fans are invited to walk pit lane and get up close to their favourite teams, drivers, and cars just minutes before the race. The grid walk will open for the Michelin Pilot Challenge race on Saturday, and of course for the WeatherTech race on Sunday. Access to the open grid walk will be in the paddock at the base of the Michelin Bridge.

Canadian Tire 100 Fan Shuttles & Motomaster Fan Assist Cart

Hitch a ride with one of our dedicated golf-cart shuttles to visit all 900 plus acres of this beautiful racing venue. The route map can be found at the Shuttle Station in the Marketplace. Shuttles run continuously throughout the day and usually end around the same time as the final on-track session of the day. There will also be a mobile vehicle service, courtesy of Motomaster, providing fans with non-emergency support such as battery boosts and tire inflation.
