CTMP Reveals 60th Anniversary Logo
BOWMANVILLE, ON (December 2, 2020) - 2021 will mark 60 years of racing at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP), and today the oldest permanent racing venue in Canada revealed their 60th Anniversary logo via the facility’s social media channels.
“We’re very excited to share our new 60th Anniversary logo with our fans, partners, and the entire racing community,” said CTMP Co-Owner Ron Fellows.
Fellows continued, “since 1961 the facility known today as Canadian Tire Motorsport Park has hosted the world’s greatest cars and drivers. The challenging 10-turn circuit is a bucket list track for racers and fans around the globe. We’re proud to carry on the legacy and racing tradition of this historic racing venue into its 60th year of operation.”
The new logo was revealed in a short tribute video that traced the circuit’s history back through the years as it hosted legendary names of international motor racing like Bruce McLaren, Stirling Moss, Gilles Villeneuve, Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi, and many more. The video also highlighted some of the memorable Canadian content through the years in both car and motorcycle racing.
While some racing dates have been announced for 2021, such as the return of both Trans Am and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in the popular Chevrolet Silverado 250 on Labour Day Weekend, Fellows prefaced the video by noting that the schedule remains tentative at best.
“We’re hoping that we can return to some level of normalcy in 2021 and host our passionate fans at our major spectator events, but the realities for next season are still unclear and we will continue to put safety first during the challenging times of COVID-19.”
Although tickets will not be going on sale this winter, CTMP will be releasing a host of 60th Anniversary commemorative items and merchandise for fans to purchase.
CTMP noted that further plans for celebrating the circuit’s 60th Anniversary will be shared with fans and the racing community in the coming months. A unique web-page has also been created on the CTMP website as an information source for all-things related to the anniversary celebrations. Until then, be sure to follow CTMP on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter via @CTMPOfficial.
