Remaining 2020 CTMP Major Events Cancelled
Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) announced today the cancellation of their remaining two ‘Major Events’ in 2020.
The Chevrolet Silverado 250, Canada’s biggest NASCAR racing event of the year, has been officially cancelled due to COVID-19. CTMP & NASCAR announced today that the highly popular racing weekend, which features the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, will not take place in 2020.
“The Silverado 250 weekend has been incredibly exciting to host here at CTMP since 2013. We’re sure fans, drivers, and teams alike are feeling the same disappointment that we are in having to cancel the event,” said CTMP President & General Manager Myles Brandt.
The announcement was also made by NASCAR in an official release regarding race updates and schedule changes for the remainder of the 2020 season. Stay tuned on social media for updates on future NASCAR racing events at CTMP.
The annual Superbike DoubleHeader has also been cancelled due to COVID-19. The weekend provides spectacular racing action from the Canadian Superbike Championship (CSBK) as the series’s season finale event.
In its 40th anniversary season, CSBK is working on building a new and shortened schedule that would see events carry on behind closed doors with spectators not able to attend. Stay tuned for more information.
Brandt continued, “We (CTMP) are now looking to the future as we are excited for 2021 and making plans to mark the 60th anniversary of this legendary facility.”
At this time CTMP will be offering the following two options in regards to tickets and/or camping purchased for 2020 events; transfer your 2020 ticket purchase to an event in 2021 or request a full refund, please correspond with us via email - info@ctmpark.com .
CTMP would like to thank its fans for their ongoing patience and understanding.
