What's On At Superbike DoubleHeader 2018
Canada’s Moto event of the summer is at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park this weekend with the Superbike Doubleheader August 10-12.
This year is extra special as it marks the 40th anniversary of Canada’s first Superbike race, which was run here at CTMP in September of 1978.
Lynden, Ontario’s Jordan Szoke will be here looking to snag his fourth consecutive - and record 13th overall - Mopar Canadian Superbike title. Titles will also be determined for the other national classes including the Liqui Moly Pro Sport Bike, the Magnetti Marelli Amateur Superbike, the Parts Canada Amateur Sport Bike and the Amateur Lightweight Sport Bike Series.
Off-track the Jordan Szoke Extreme Show is set to perform a high-adrenaline freestyle motocross spectacle. Unlike traditional motocross, freestyle showcases daredevil riders who perform mesmerizing jumps over a stretch of up to 75-feet; a unique experience for fans! Shows will take place Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., as well as Sunday at 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
On Saturday night the Toronto Motorcycle Film Festival presents the Outdoor Movie Night featuring award-winning film Dream Racer, and short films The Little Person Inside and AKA Brokentooth. The films will be shown in the CTMP Marketplace near the Beer Garden. Popcorn will be provided - but make sure to bring your own chair!
Moreover, Honda, BMW and Harley-Davidson will be offering Demo Rides on Saturday and Sunday. Registration will take place in Lower Paddock F. Riders must have a valid motorcycle licence, riding gear and a helmet to participate. Honda will also be running its Junior Red Riders program for 6- to 12-year-olds to learn how to ride in an environment that is designed to be safe, fun and community-focused.
Don’t forget to participate in the Selfie Contest at the Turn 2 CTMP Photo Spot. All you need to do is post a photo on Instagram that was taken at our CTMP Photo Spot, tag @ctmpofficial and use #CTMPLife in your caption to be entered. All entrants can pick up a free event poster at the Merchandise Trailer, but only one will win the Grand Prix Club upgrade on the Sunday! There’s also a chance to win prize packages in the Carlsberg Beer Garden. Check-in at CTMP using the UnTappd app and share what you’re drinking for a chance to win a prize pack!
Also be sure to visit the paddock areas that are located on the circuit infield at the north end near the start/finish straight. This will be a great opportunity to meet and speak with the riders, so bring your marker, autograph book and camera. All of these great off-track activities are included in your event ticket.
As always the CTMP Marketplace will be open to feed your hunger and your shopping needs. The Trackside Grill will be serving fries, poutine, burgers and hot dogs, and Kilties Mini Donuts will be around for a nice little treat. The CTMP Merchandise Trailer will have a great selection of race souvenirs and merchandise.
Weekend SuperTickets, Camping, and Grand Prix Club passes are available for purchase online. Children 16 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. For more information or to purchase tickets, please clock the “Buy Tickets” icon at the top or bottom of this page!
