Things To See And Do At VARAC 2018

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) is gearing up for its second event of the season just in time for Father’s Day with the VARAC Vintage Grand Prix weekend. The three-day event, held June 15 to 17, will feature the largest entry list in recent memory with over 400 vintage cars.

Celebrate Father’s Day by spending time at the track watching the weekend’s feature race, the Formula 5000 Revival Series, as they take to the historic circuit 50 years after the series came to Mosport Park for their inaugural season in 1968. The event’s Grand Marshal will be racing legend Brian Redman, who dominated the F5000 series in the 1970’s. Fans will be able to attend a Meet-and-Greet with Redman where they will receive an autographed event poster Saturday from 12:00p.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Fans will also be able to find Redman at the Legends of Motorsports Panel where he will be joined by fellow ex-F5000 driver and Canadian legend, Eppie Wietzes, to share stories from the glory days. The panel is open to the public and can be found in the Event Centre’s lower level on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Alongside the F-5000 Revival Series, the weekend will include the Royale Formula Ford Challenge Series (RFFCS), the Toyo F1600 series and much more.

Off-track, fans can enjoy the CTMP Marketplace where there will be vendors, such as the Enniskillen General Store featuring Kawartha Dairy Ice Cream. Our Trackside Grill will also feature our new family sized fries and poutine, as well as a combo that comes with four hot dogs and a family sized fry, which is perfect for families spending the day at the track. Our friends from Carlsberg will also be here with a Beer Tent pouring beverages on Saturday and Sunday. Families are also welcome to bring a picnic for their Father’s Day festivities if they wish.

The weekend will also feature a brand new CTMP Formula 5000 50th Anniversary t-shirt to add to dad’s collection.

Weekend Super Tickets, as well as Sunday tickets, are available for purchase at the gate. Children 16 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult making it a great way to spend time with the kids and grandchildren.
